Dustin Milligan as Jack Snowman and Lacey Chabert as Kathy Barrett in Hot Frosty

The lead-up to the romantic holiday movie season has well and truly begun. Yes, the Hallmark Channel dominates this very specific and fascinating area, but Netflix isn’t about to be left out in the cold. Next month, the streamer brings Frosty the Snowman to life in a whole new—chiseled, cheekboned—sort of way with Hot Frosty.

I feel like you can pretty much get the gist of the film from that title alone, but here’s the scoop:

Two years after losing her husband, Kathy magically brings a handsome snowman to life! Through his naïveté, the snowman helps Kathy to laugh, feel and love again, as the two fall for each other just in time for the holidays…and before he melts.

Live, laugh, love: hot snowman edition stars Lacey Chabert as Kathy and Dustin Milligan as “Jack Snowman.” (I’m serious.) To me Chabert is always poor put-upon Claudia from Party of Five, but she’s probably best known for her roles in Mean Girls and Lost in Space (’90s version). Milligan’s impressively long list of credits include a long turn on Schitt’s Creek and roles in Final Destination 3, 90210, Rutherford Falls, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.

Joining in the seasonally appropriate merriment are Craig Robinson, Lauren Holly, Katy Mixon, Joe Lo Truglio, and Chrishell Stause. Hot Frosty is directed by Jerry Ciccoritti (who has 14 episodes of Schitt’s Creek under his belt) and written by Russell Hainline, who is also responsible for The Santa Summit and In Merry Measure.

The festivities begin on Netflix on November 13th. icon-paragraph-end
